About Byron Bay

Byron Bay is famous for its natural bounty. Rich in spectacular beaches, lush rainforest hinterlands, great coastal flavours and a bohemian community, Byron Bay is Australia’s most iconic lifestyle destination. This charming town is situated on Cape Byron in the northeastern corner of New South Wales. The town stands on the ancient grounds of the Bundjalung Nation of the Arakwal, Minjungbal and the Widjabul people who have been living there for about 20,000 years.

Once upon a time, Byron Bay was a hippie town, attracting backpackers and seachangers. Surfers, artists, craftspersons and musicians also flocked into the small town. These locals never really left, but were joined by newcomers who set up modern restaurants, craft breweries, and homegrown fashion labels. The town is perfect for tourists seeking relaxation, rejuvenation, and a holistic approach to well- being as it has a plethora of yoga studios, wellness centres, and spas.

People visit Byron Bay to surf and enjoy its beaches, to go eco cruising, to snorkel in Cape Byron Marine Park and to explore the abundant rainforest. The waters of Byron Bay are blessed with abundant marine life such as fish, corals, sharks, rays, etc.

Offering unique and natural experiences that capture the essence of coastal living, Byron Bay has become a sought-after destination for tourists from all over the world.
